Report a bug

Tell the DDM team from the app what does not work – with the technical details that help find the bug.

Does something in the app not work as it should – an error message, a document that will not open, a sync that hangs? Report it to us – on a computer, in the browser or on a smartphone. The report goes straight to the DDM team and, if you like, brings the technical details we need to find the bug.

Where to find it

  • In the Settings: Report a bug.
  • Under My reports – in the Settings and, on a smartphone, under More – there is Report a bug, too.

Reporting a bug

  • What happened? – in a few words, such as “Data sheet will not open”.
  • How did it come about? – what you did, what happened and what you expected. You write in the same editor as a note.
  • Where in DDM? – such as Documents, Search or The app.
  • How much does it get in your way? – Minor, Gets in the way or I cannot go on.
  • Screenshot (optional) – choose a picture or, on a computer, paste one with ⌘V / Ctrl+V.
  • Tell me by e-mail when the DDM team answers – ticked.

Tap Send. You get a confirmation by e-mail.

Report a bug best right after it happened – without restarting the app. The technical details are those of the moment you open Report a bug; a restart clears what the app gathered until then.

Technical details

Attach technical details is ticked; Show shows exactly what goes:

  • Environment – which app – browser, desktop app or mobile app – in which version, device and operating system, language, time zone, screen and window size, whether you are online, and the screen you are on.
  • App – whether you are on Wi-Fi, how far the sync has got, how many changes are still waiting to be sent, and the latest screens in the current tab.
  • Failed calls – the latest calls to the server that did not work, with a request id by which we find them in our logs.
  • Errors in the browser, Opened lately and Console – what went wrong in the app, the screens before and the latest warnings.

Never included are passwords, keys, the contents of documents or notes, or e-mail addresses – they are removed on your device already. If you would rather not send the details, untick the box.

After reporting

Your bug report is under My reports, marked with a bug. It shows where it has got to – up to Fixed – and in the conversation we can ask and you can answer. Technical details you sent shows once more what went along.

Good to know

  • Without a connection nothing can be sent; the app tells you so. If it is the connection right now, report the bug once you are back online – the details stay as long as the app is open.
  • Your reports are seen only by you and the DDM team.
  • Up to 10 reports a day – bugs and feature requests together.
  • Something is missing rather than broken? Then it is a feature request.
