Feature requests

Tell the DDM team what you are missing – and follow what becomes of it under “My reports”.

Is something missing in DDM, or would something make your work easier? Send us a feature request. It goes straight to the DDM team – not to your organisation's administrators. If something does not work, report a bug.

Sending a request

In the CMS, click your name at the bottom left and, under My account, Suggest a feature – or look for it in the command palette (Ctrl K). In the app, Suggest a feature is in the Settings – see Feature requests in the app.

  • In a few words – what it is about, e.g. "Export the approval history as a PDF".
  • What should it do, and what for? – describe the situation you are in and what would help you there. The more precise, the better we can place it.
  • Where in DDM? – the area, e.g. Documents, Approvals or The app.
  • How important is it to you? – Nice to have, Important or It holds up my work.
  • Screenshot (optional) – choose a picture or paste one with ⌘V / Ctrl+V. It is made smaller before it is sent.
  • Tell me by e-mail when the DDM team answers – ticked. Without it, you read our answers only under My reports.

You write the description and comments in the same editor as a note: the bar at the top formats text, makes headings, lists and task lists, quotes and code, and inserts a table or a diagram (Mermaid). / opens the same blocks as a menu, and selected text gets a small bar. If you prefer typing Markdown – **bold**, - for a list, ``` for code – it is formatted as you type.

Click Send. If something is missing, it says so under the field. You receive a confirmation by e-mail.

Your name, your e-mail address, your organisation, the app and its version and the page you wrote it on go to us with the request – so we know where it came from.

My reports

My reports lists every request and bug report you have sent – in the CMS under My account › My reports, in the app in the Settings and, on a smartphone, under More.

  • Each request shows where it has got to: New, Being reviewed, Planned, Done or Declined.
  • When the DDM team has written, the request carries a dot. In the CMS the answer is also in the bell at the bottom left – a click opens the conversation; in the app More shows the number.
  • Open a request to see the conversation with the DDM team – your request at the top, then every comment with its author and date – and comment below it. If you have a question about a request, write it here as well.
  • Attach files puts up to 5 files on a comment, up to 5 MB each: pictures, PDF, Word, Excel, PowerPoint or text, such as a log. You can also paste a picture into the text box with ⌘V / Ctrl+V. Pictures show in the conversation; other files download with a click.
  • Tell me by e-mail when the DDM team answers can be switched on and off for each request. The e-mail arrives a few minutes after the answer.
  • If the DDM team changes your request – to make it clearer, say – you get an e-mail showing what changed, and the request says “edited by the DDM team”.
  • Every report has a number, such as DDM-123 – beside its title and in the subject of every e-mail about it. A click copies it; quote it when you write to us about a report.
  • Linked shows how your report relates to others: Duplicate of, Duplicates, Blocks, Blocked by or Related – each with the other's number, title and status. Your own open with a click; of other people's you see only number, title and status.
  • If your report is a duplicate, we close it (“Declined”) and tell you which report it belongs to. From then on you also get the DDM team's replies there – by e-mail if you have the notification on.

Good to know

  • Anybody who belongs to an organisation can send requests – no special rights needed.
  • Your requests and their conversations are seen only by you and the DDM team, not by your colleagues or your organisation's administrators.
  • Up to 10 reports a day – requests and bug reports together.
  • Without a connection, the app cannot send anything; it tells you so.
  • We read every request, but cannot build every one. What comes is under What's new.
