Feature requests
Is something missing in the app, or would something make your work easier? Send us a feature request – straight from the app, on a computer, in the browser or on a smartphone. It goes to the DDM team, not to your organisation's administrators. If something does not work, report a bug.
Where to find it
- In the Settings: Suggest a feature and My reports.
- On a smartphone also under More › My reports – with the number of answers you have not read yet.
Sending a request
Tap Suggest a feature and fill in:
- In a few words – what it is about, such as “Sort documents by date”.
- What should it do, and what for? – the situation you are in and what would help you there. The more precise, the better we can place the request. You write in the same editor as a note: the bar at the top makes text bold, starts lists, task lists, quotes and code, and inserts a table or a diagram; / opens the same blocks as a menu.
- Where in DDM? – such as Documents, Search, Notes or The app.
- How important is it to you? – Nice to have, Important or It holds up my work.
- Screenshot (optional) – choose a picture or, on a computer, paste one with ⌘V / Ctrl+V. It is made smaller before it is sent.
- Tell me by e-mail when the DDM team answers – ticked. Untick it, and you read our answers only under My reports.
Tap Send. If something is missing, it says so under the field. You get a confirmation by e-mail.
With the request, your name, e-mail address and organisation, the app – browser, desktop app or mobile app – with its version, and the screen you wrote it on go to us, so we know where it comes from.
My reports
My reports lists every request and bug report you have sent – the ones from the CMS, too.
- Each shows where it has got to: New, Being reviewed, Planned, Done or Declined.
- When the DDM team has written, the request carries a dot until you open it.
- Open, your request is at the top and the conversation with the DDM team below – each answer with its author and date. Below that you can comment yourself, in the same editor. If you have a question about a request, write it here, too.
- Attach files puts up to 5 files on a comment, up to 5 MB each: pictures, PDF, Word, Excel, PowerPoint or text, such as a log. Pictures show in the conversation; other files download with a tap.
- Tell me by e-mail when the DDM team answers can be switched on and off for each request. The e-mail arrives a few minutes after the answer.
- If the DDM team changes your request – to make it clearer, say – you get an e-mail showing what changed, and the request says edited by the DDM team.
- Every report has a number, such as DDM-123 – beside its title and in the subject of every e-mail about it. A click copies it; quote it when you write to us about a report.
- Linked shows how your report relates to others: Duplicate of, Duplicates, Blocks, Blocked by or Related – each with the other's number, title and status. Your own open with a click; of other people's you see only number, title and status.
- If your report is a duplicate, we close it (“Declined”) and tell you which report it belongs to. From then on you also get the DDM team's replies there – by e-mail if you have the notification on.
On a smartphone the list and the open request take turns; My reports at the top goes back to the list.
Good to know
- Anybody in an organisation can send requests – you need no special rights.
- Your requests and their conversations are seen only by you and the DDM team, not by your colleagues or your organisation's administrators.
- Up to 10 reports a day – requests and bug reports together.
- Without a connection nothing can be sent; the app tells you so. Read and write once you are back online.
- We read every request, but cannot build every one. What comes is under What's new.
In the CMS you find the same under My account – see Feature requests in the CMS.
